mode of being

March 29 + 30, 2019

Premiered at KANEKO as part of the The Movement Series

an evening length production examining the shared elements of human nature.

Through movement, dancers explored the external behaviors, rituals, and patterns we engage in on a daily basis - waking up, tying our shoes, eating, going to work getting dressed, getting undressed. These mundane actions can feel like cogs in a larger machine of existence. Internally, and often unseen, we are a well of human experience shaped by memories, relationships, events in our life, and emotions. These shared acts are widely varied, but can overlap and intersect - connecting us in ways that can be easily seen, and other times only felt.

Mode of being featured a live, original score, created directly in conversation with the choreography and exhibition.
