NICHOL MASON LAZENBY | SHE/HER/HERS | Placerville, CA

Nichol Mason Lazenby, dance artist and educator has taught, choreographed, and performed throughout the country for the past 14 years. Originally from Southern California, she received her B.F.A. in Dance from California State University of Long Beach, MFA degree in Dance/Choreography and Certificate in College Teaching from The University of Arizona. Throughout her career she had the pleasure of working with The Old Globe Theater, Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Contemporary Dance Company, Artifact Dance Project, and tbd. Dance Collective, along with many independent choreographers. In conjunction with making works for the concert stage, Nichol’s creative interests span from theater, musical theater, and film to experimental performance art. Nichol has taught an array of disciplines from modern and jazz technique, theater dance, choreography, improvisation, Pilates, and dance conditioning for University of Arizona, Creighton University, University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and Pima Community Colleges. Currently, she teaches Dance History, Dance Cultures of America, and Intermediate Jazz Dance Technique at California State University of Sacramento.

For Making Space - Nichol created + performed a solo, presented through a short film entitled Among Us. Among us was filmed on the land where Nichol resides in Northern California.
